REACH EDMONTON is self described as a backbone agency that promotes lasting change in Edmonton communities by engaging community members, stakeholders and Edmonton agencies in a city-wide effort to reduce crime in our city. Each initiative that REACH participates in is carefully evaluated to make sure that the services they offer are truly benefiting Edmonton in the ways they are meant to.
REACH EDMONTON offers a wide array of supports and services to promote the safety and wellbeing of Edmontonians. These services include community and family supports, 24/7 crisis diversion, interagency communication, multicultural and indigenous engagement, risk factors for gang involvement, training, and community engagement efforts.
REACH organizes various initiatives that support vulnerable and at-risk youths as they complete their education, learn positive social skills, and practice life skills they will need as they move into adulthood. These initiatives are designed to be engaging and informative for community members and families in need of additional support.
To support high-needs and high-risk populations, REACH offers 24/7 crisis diversion team. REACH has partnered with the HOPE Mission, Boyle Street Community Services, the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Edmonton Police Service to make sure that vulnerable individuals are provided immediate support when at risk. REACH acts as a dispatch service, coordinating Edmonton supports to make sure that individuals receive help when they most need it. This support can address concerns like the need for shelter, clothing, food, medical attention, and more.
To access support for yourself, someone you know, or someone you think may need help, simply call 211 for 24/7 support!
In partnership with organizations like the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Centre for Race and Culture, REACH offers free and low-cost training opportunities. These trainings are meant to support front line workers and community members as they learn how to best support vulnerable people and diverse populations. Trainings can be found at:
